This week in 2RB

Hi big little minds,

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Please keep reading if you want to know what is happening this week in 2RB.

In Maths, we will start learning about fractions. To begin with, we will identify what is a half and what symbol do we use to represent it. We will also learn what is a quarter and its symbol. This week we will have lots of fun cutting different thing in half and also in quarters.

In Topic, we will learn the story ‘The sheep and the goat’ by Pie Corbett. Our aim is to retell the story, so we will have lots of practice throughout the week. At the end of the week we will hopefullly be ready to answer some questions about the story.

Our project this week will be about 2RB’s jewel shop. We will try to remember the rules of the shop and we will create a poster to be displayed (as we did not have time to do it last week). We will also finish the catalogue for the shop.

See you all later!

We have made mini Paddington bears!

Hi big little minds,

This week we have really enjoyed learning the story of Paddington bear. We have created our own labels, like the one Paddington had when Mr and Mrs Brown found him in Paddington station. Can you remember what was written in his label?

We have also made our own suitcase and we have cut out and put the things we would take if were travelling to another country, just like Paddington did. Can you remember how did he travel all the way to London? And what was he eating?

Today, we have made mini Paddington bears, mini suitcases and mini food items to put inside them. What a fantastic work girls, I am really impressed! After that, we have written a letter to Paddington bear to invite him to come to our houses. I am sure he will be willing to come and play with you all.

This is a link to the story of Paddington bear. Can you retell the story to mummy and daddy?

Thank you for your hard work this half term big little minds, you have been as amazing as usual. Please have lots of fun during your well deserved break.

Happy half term week! I will miss you all.

The school will be closed tomorrow

Hi everyone,

Just a quick reminder: Tomorrow we will have an INSET day, so it will be time for the adults working at Rosendale to spend their day doing very good learning. Therefore, the school will be closed.

I hope you have a brilliant day at home. Here you have a link to the Autumnal story we have been reading this week, ‘Ferdie and the falling leaves’.  I hope you enjoy listening to it once again. Maybe, you can retell the story to mum and dad.

Have a wonderfull Friday big little minds. We will miss you all!
