You can never have too many conkers!

Hi everyone!

What a fun start of the week!  We have really enjoyed our scavenge around the park this sunny and windy morning.  We have been able to see lots of interesting Autumny things such us trees, conkers, twigs, different colours of leaves and even a mushroom! We heard the swishhhhy sound of the branches beeing swayed by the wind and the crunch of the  leaves as we were walking.

And the most important thing of all, we have come back to school with a big bag of interesting stuff! Leaves, conkers, conker shells, twigs and (yes, you’ve guessed it) A MUSHROOM!

We have sorted our findings and then we have created a beautiful poster. In Maths, we have counted all the conkers. Can you guess how many did we get?

This week

Hello 2RB friends!

Are you ready for the week? This is what is going to happen in 2RB:

In Topic we will learn about Autumn and changes. We will learn Autumn related vocabulary and we will look at the changes that are happening around us during this new season. We will start our week having a little explore in Brockwell Park and we will bring some interesting Autumny items back to the class to be used during the week. We will read the book ‘Ferdie and the falling leaves’.

In Maths we will continue practising counting in ones from any number, both forwards and backwards. We will continue counting in twos, using the number line not to forget to skip a number. We will have the opportunity to practice comparing quantities using conkers, twigs and leaves.  We will make sentences using the words ‘more’ and ‘less’.

We have been doing lots of Handwriting practice. We are now focusing on writing beautiful numbers.

In Phonics we are still recapping phase 3 sounds and also some tricky words.

Our target posters are already looking very good. We will finish them during our Project sessions this week. I can’t wait for you to see them!

I hope you enjoy all the new adventures!
